All 7 Major Character Deaths In 1923 Season 2
Action-packed and full of significant character deaths, 1923 season 2, episode 6 is worth dissecting. The characters in 1923's second season have been relocating across the nation; Teonna Rainwater has fled farther away, while Spencer and Alex Dutton have been relocating closer to Montana. The Duttons, meanwhile, have survived a brutal winter and are waiting for Donald Whitfield and Banner Creighton to attack. Some of these things finally came together in episode 6, which led to a carnage; episode 7 is expected to be even worse.
According to recent announcements, episode 7 will be the finale of Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone prequel, which is thought to conclude after season 2. All the stories in the show must come to a head quickly because there is only one episode left in 1923. Fortunately, the season 2 finale will be available for extended viewing, with a duration comparable to a full-length film. Furthermore, only the main characters remained for the conclusion after episode 6 removed many elements. In total, seven significant characters died in episode 6.
Jack Dutton
John Dutton I's son Jack Dutton is one of the ranch's possible heirs. Jack chose to go despite being instructed to wait at the ranch while Jacob and the other members of the crew went to the train station to intercept Banner Creighton's forces, getting ready for Spencer's arrival. In the forest, he met Clyde and Alec. When asked where he was going, the gullible Jack Dutton said he was the second-best gunslinger in the area, but Clyde shot him dead before he could even pull out his gun.
In the last episode, Elizabeth Dutton, Jack's wife, almost left the ranch before being persuaded to stay. Elizabeth was tired of the perils of ranch life after being attacked by a rabid wolf and a mountain lion. After making the decision to stay, she soon found out she was expecting a child. After learning of her husband's passing and coming to terms with the fact that he chose to fight for his family rather than abandon everything to be with her, Elizabeth Dutton will now have to deal with her grief in the 1923 finale.
Paul & Hillary
Alex had met a nice British couple, Paul and Hillary, on her train ride from New York City to Chicago, and they were starting to emerge as some of the most likeable characters on the show. Paul and Hillary supported Alex after the violent train incident, stating that it was self-defense and allowing her to go free. When they discovered her waiting at the Chicago train station at the end of episode 5, after learning that the ride to Fargo had been canceled, preventing her from continuing on to Montana, their generosity continued.
Alex Dutton quickly became friends with Paul and Hillary, who even offered to give her a ride in their vehicle. Regretfully, the trains to Fargo were halted for a valid reason. Things rapidly took a turn for the worse, and although winter may be over in Texas, it is still raging in the north. Hillary was dead when Alex woke up in the car. Alex was left alone in the bitter cold with no hope in sight after Paul tried to leave but was also carried away by the cold weather. We'll find out if she and Spencer get back together in Episode 7.
Father Renaud
Teonna Rainwater attended a boarding school in North Dakota, where Father Renaud was the headmaster. After she killed two nuns, he started to hunt her down. In season 2, episode 6, Renaud finally got the chance to jump on Teonna in the middle of the night after pursuing her all the way to West Texas. Before attacking Teonna, he is able to shoot Runs His Horse, but this ends up being the last bullet in his revolver.
Teonna Rainwater finally has some luck in the season 2 episode 6 ending of 1923, as she is able to strike after Father Renaud's empty magnum. She pulls out her knife and attacks Renaud viciously, shooting him dead after stabbing him multiple times. Teonna Rainwater has finally freed herself from his dominance and the mistreatment at the boarding school after two seasons. Unfortunately, she lost almost everything she owned, and she lives a very long way from home. The possibility that Thomas Rainwater will be her descendant is hinted at in Episode 7.
Runs His Horse
Thomas Rainwater would eventually succeed Runs His Horse as the tribal leader of the Broken Rock Reservation. In addition, he is the father of Teonna Rainwater, whom he travels to protect throughout season two, ultimately giving his life without even having a chance to defend her. Runs His Horse was certain that he and his daughter were safe after discovering the bodies of Pete and Kent, so he made the decision to build a fire for solace. Unfortunately, Renaud came directly to them as a result of this decision, and Runs His Horse was promptly killed.
The character's death was rather sudden because Runs His Horse appeared to have been killed while he was sleeping. Nevertheless, Teonna was forced to face her deadly foe head-on. Although Teonna will undoubtedly spend episode 7 mourning for him, the choice gave her a fighting chance in melee combat and left Renaud without a bullet in his barrel.
When Marshal Kent and Father Renaud found Pete Plenty Clouds looking for water on behalf of Teonna and Runs His Horse, Season 2, episode 5 ended on a huge cliffhanger. Marshal Kent's bloodlust persisted even though he was unaware of Pete's identity; the series reveals that Pete was the one who was mortally wounded during the encounter. Father Renaud asked Kent why he killed Pete, and Kent said that it was because "he ran," thereby convicting him in accordance with Kent's legal system.
Since leaving home, Pete has experienced a lot, and it's obvious that he was prepared to go to great lengths to ensure Teonna's safety. Although Kent's death was tragic, it ultimately forced Renaud to face the madman he had been working with and exposed Kent's true nature. In the end, Teonna had a chance when the headmaster confronted her later that evening because Renaud killed Kent after the fact. Although it was painful to witness Pete's passing, his sacrifice wasn't in vain.
Marshal Kent
Father Renaud traveled with Marshal Kent in pursuit of Teonna Rainwater, and the two of them formed a Western horror duo that was almost reminiscent of Cormac McCarthy. Renaud drew the line in episode 6 of 1923, which began with the revelation that Marshal Kent had killed Pete Plenty Clouds during their shootout, following the cliffhanger ending of episode 5 of season 2. Although he was obviously on his own nefarious mission, Renaud had shown himself to be marginally more stable than Marshal Kent, who was much more brutal and murderous.
Marshal Kent's death was ultimately caused by this discrepancy. Father Renaud confronts Kent in episode 6 after killing Pete Plenty Clouds because neither of them was aware of Pete's connection to Teonna. Renaud states that although their goal was to bring justice to a girl, Kent had a history of killing men and boys. Kent comes up to continue the argument after Renaud accuses him of being a murderous, evil man, but Renaud swiftly draws his gun and shoots Kent. After making sure Kent is dead with three bullets, he departs from him.
